Puente de Segovia

 

Ordered by Philip II to connect calle de Segovia with the Estremaduria street, this bridge is the most ancient of Madrid.

Puente de Segovia a Madrid

Supposedly made by the architect Juan de Herrera between 1582 and 1584.

The bridge has nine semicircular arches with a door on the front, which was made to enlarge the entrance to the court..
