
By plane
There are numerous and frequent flight connections from most European cities to Madrid , and the new airport Barajas is served both by international air companies and low cost companies.
Theairport is 12 km distant from the city, and it is connected by a good network of public transports with numerous shuttle-buses cleaving every 15 minutes. The bus journey takes approximately 20 minutes depending on traffic. The underground is also present at the airport with line 8, starting from terminal n.2. The journey takes about 10 minutes until the underground stop of Nuevos Ministerios , from where you can reach the various destinations of the city centre.
If you wish to travel in comfort you can make use of taxi,The average cost for a ride to the city is 25 euro.

Train
Train is not the best way to reach Madrid from Italy or France, since there are no straight connections and you need to change in Parigi or in Spain.
Anyway, if you want to travel by train there is the so called trenhotel Francisco de Goya which connects Paris station Austerlitz with Madridstation Chamartin in about 10 hours. Price for the ticket ranges from 150 to 400 euro. From Italy, there is a train called Elipsos Salvador Dalì which connects Milanto Madrid calling at Torino and Barcellona , but you need to change in Barcelona and take regional trains.

Buses represent a cheap alternative to reach Madrid there are numerous bus companies offering connections from the main European cities, with intermediate departures and stops.
There are 3 bus stations in Madrid Avenida de America, Conde de Casaland the main station Mendez Alvaro.They are all served by the underground.

By car:
To reach Madridby car take the E80 highway until Barcellona, then take the A2 in proximity of Zaragoza, which leads straight to Madrid.
